Education
History:
B.S. in Bible from Ohio Valley University, 2002
B.A. in Liberal Studies form Ohio
Valley University, 2002
MDiv. from Harding University Graduate
School of Religion 2008
Interests/Hobbies:
I love sports. Basketball,
baseball ping-pong, etc… I also love to read about the
Christian faith, living the Christian life, ministry to the
poor and other areas of history.
A
Scripture that is important to you:
Jesus’ Parable of the Sheep and Goats is foundational
for the way I view my life. The most important thing for me
is to live as a faithful follower of Jesus and in this
parable Jesus explains the lifestyle and priority of he
desires for his sheep.
The Beattitudes are also very
important as they detail the character of citizens of the
kingdom of God. I pray that I will always keep these before
my eyes and in my heart.
Favorite thing about Memphis:
It is the place where I met the
woman I plan to call my wife. The blessing she is to me is
beyond measure.
History with MUM:
I have been a part of the Raleigh Community church of Christ
since 2004. I was an apprentice from 2006-2008 where I
gained important ministry experience in an urban context. I
continue to lead the youth ministry there and in March began
as an outreach minister with MUM.
What is your personal mission while working with MUM?
I hope to become a more faithful disciple of Jesus and see
God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven. I know God’s
will is for his people to care for the poor and I hope to
help my brothers and find ways to use their gifts to be
open-handed to those living in poverty. I also plan to be
building friendships with my neighbors living in poverty and
constantly listening to their need and ways to help. In all
things I am committed to keeping my eyes fixed on Jesus and
His good news for our world.
