Degrees received: M.A. New Testament from Freed-Hardeman University, May 2007. Thesis: Interpreting the Sermon on the Mount for Social Embodiment. B.A. Biblical Studies, Freed-Hardeman University, December 2004.

Interests/Hobbies: Spending as much time as I can with my fiancé Megan; studying scripture; studying various strands of theology and ethics, especially postliberal and liberation theologies, narrative and canonical biblical criticism, and virtue ethics; playing guitar; songwriting.

A Scripture that is important to you: Matt. 5-7

Favorite thing about Memphis: The Casablanca Cafe and Goner Records, located next door to each other over on Young Street.

What is your personal mission while working with MUM? To become a more effective minister, and cultivate both a pastoral heart and a prophetic voice. To help those who feel they have no voice in their world to find their voice. To love courageously and tell the truth without apology. That's a whole lot of goals, but they're interconnected, really.
